New CMF Clearinghouse feature
The CMF Clearinghouse now provides data extracts in XML and XLS formats. These files are updated monthly and reflect the full content of the CMF Clearinghouse. They are intended for those who have developed software tools and would like to have a mechanism to automatically ingest new CMF Clearinghouse data on a regular basis. The files can be accessed HERE.

Draft Final Report from NCHRP 17-63
NCHRP Project 17-63 developed guidance on selecting and adjusting CMFs for sites at which key characteristics may be different, applying CMFs for multiple treatments in a single location, and developing future CMFs in functions that account for differences in key characteristics.
Capacity Analysis for Planning of Junctions (CAP-X) Tool
The Capacity Analysis for Planning of Junctions (CAP-X) Tool is intended to aid in the determination of a preferred alternative for a given intersection project by providing an objective, quantifiable basis to compare the operational performance of different intersection types. This tool may be of use to transportation planners, transportation engineers, and highway and street designers. This document provides information and guidance on how to use the CAP-X Tool, a macro-based, Microsoft Excel spreadsheet, to assess the operational performance of a variety of intersection geometry and control scenarios in terms of volume to capacity ratio and multimodal accommodations.
Safety Performance for Intersection Control Evaluation (SPICE) Tool and User Guide
The Safety Performance for Intersection Control Evaluation (SPICE) Tool is intended to aid in the determination of a preferred alternative for a given intersection project by providing an objective, quantifiable basis to compare the safety performance of different intersection types. This tool may be of use to traffic safety researchers and practitioners, transportation planners and engineers, and highway and street designers. This document provides information and guidance on how to use the SPICE Tool, a macro-based, Microsoft Excel spreadsheet, to assess the safety performance of a variety of intersection geometry and control scenarios in terms of predicted crash frequency and severity.

Submit a Study
The CMF Clearinghouse welcomes CMF study submissions to be included in its searchable database. If you wish to submit your CMF study, please email Karen Scurry at karen.scurry@dot.gov. Be sure to search the Clearinghouse before submitting a new CMF as we may already have it listed. You may either send a link to a resource already existing on the web (preferred) or upload your own file. Submissions might include published research studies that are not presented in the Clearinghouse, or state-specific CMFs that were developed as part of the Highway Safety Improvement Program.
