Install adaptive traffic signal control

Description: ATSC is a traffic management strategy in which traffic signal timings change, or adapt, based on observed traffic demand. These systems utilize increased detection to continually collect data on observed demand, and signal timings are then re-optimized based on current data.

Prior Condition:  Signalized Intersections without Adaptive Signal Control Technology (ASCT)

Category: Intersection traffic control

Study: Safety Evaluation of an Adaptive Signal Control Technology Using an Empirical Bayes Approach, Kodi et al., 2022

Comments:The number of Before and After Crashes/Year for Treatment Intersections is presented in Table 4 in the paper. However, this information was not disaggregated at the intersection level to distinguish between the varying Before and After periods at intersections leading to the number of crashes in the Before and After being recorded as unknown.
